SHOUT OUT...

i'm nice, and dog-on-it my clients like me...

http://wierhouse.blogspot.com/2008/10/bob-photo.html

for real, these guys are blowing up. it has been fun to be a small part of their rather dramatic rise. plus, it gave me an excuse to show a pic of alex wier and his custom logo painting by jay jacobs.

STROBIST INFO: SB800 shoot through an umbrella on mr. wier and a gridded spot in the conference room for the logo/painting.

RAD shoot

another WIERHOUSE shoot, this time it was a fast trip through a medical setting. one day to get a variety of medical vignettes for their upcoming campaign. while it can be fun to set up enough lights to shoot ISO 50 with the RZs, sometimes the job calls for a more nimble solution. in this case is was even more fun to improvise with the D3 and a couple speedlights (thx david hobby) the shoot ended up being extremely productive. the way WIERHOUSE is going i'm sure you'll see more of these shots at next year's addy awards.

ZACK ARIAS - TRANSFORM

a powerful video for photographers from ZACK ARIAS.

ciao

NEW LOGO

during out trip to san francisco this year i had the pleasure of visiting my extraordinarily talented cousin's studio. my eyes caught a painting she had done as an artistic exercise. it was a simple and elegant illustration of the most basic human exchange. i fell in love with the image and she was kind enough to allow me to use it as a replacement for my 15 year old logo. THX SEVILLA - i'll get that drive back to you ASAP.

cheers

SHOOTING OUT THE LIGHTS

since i've been getting set up in the studio, it's been a little while since i worked and dusk architectural shot. this one was worth the wait. long exposures and falling light really help me appreciate an old studioball. back in the studio next week for a food shoot.

cheers.

LIGHT CONTROL

just got all settled in to the studio and wanted to play around a bit.

so we all agree that i'm not making any great artistic strides with these - just paying with light and enjoying the space. i'll be back in the studio tomorrow for a product shoot and on location next week for a medical shoot.
